Creative Challenge:
Traditional French fragrance houses are steeped in a rich history of style and imagery. L'Artisan Parfumeur wants to break with this convention. Their latest collection is uniquely based around bottled emotions. The challenge is to showcase this range by breaking the rules of conventional perfume packaging. Re-envisage the L'Artisan Parfumeur  brand for the 21st century by creating a design solution for a new unisex range of scents.

There are four scents, each capturing a different human feeling;
SCENT A: Passion and desire.
SCENT B: Perfect, sublime love
SCENT C: Excitement an fear
SCENT D: Elegant and dignified

The final design was not submitted for competition.

"I found I could say things with colours an shapes that I couldn't say any other way- things I had no words for." - Georgin O'Keeffe.

The design solution is inspired by how different shapes and colours are able to convey mood and emotion. For instance, sharp shapes are seen as lively and dangerous while spirals are more mysterious and rhythmic. The aim of the design is to use shapes as a powerful way to communicate the four different scents.

The use of linework elements, as well as both male and female graphics to sell the perfume as an unisex scent.
